Privacy Policy for Password Generator

Scope
This policy describes how the current version of Password Generator handles information when you generate passwords and passphrases, analyze password strength, save settings, or use its encrypted local vault. It also describes relevant differences in the browser preview.
Data access and collection
Password generation and strength analysis take place on your device without an account. The app does not transmit generated passwords, entered passwords, vault contents, or saved settings to the developer. The inspected application contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs.
The app handles the following information locally:
• Generated passwords, passphrases, and batch results, which remain temporary unless you explicitly save them to the vault or copy them elsewhere.
• Passwords or passphrases you enter for strength analysis, which are processed in memory and are not saved by the analysis feature.
• Saved generation presets, preset names, favorites, default generation rules, and your clipboard-clearing preference, which are stored locally in app settings.
• Credentials you choose to save, including their labels, secret values, credential types, and locally generated record identifiers, which are stored in the encrypted Android vault.
The app uses Android device authentication to control vault access. Android handles confirmation of your device screen lock; the app receives the authentication result rather than your screen-lock credential.
Purposes
Local processing supports password and passphrase generation, estimated strength analysis, reusable settings, and storage and management of credentials you choose to save. The passphrase word list is bundled with the app, so generating passphrases does not require downloading words.
Clipboard access
When you choose Copy, the app places the selected result or results on your device clipboard. Other apps or system features may be able to access or retain copied information, subject to your device’s controls.
Android copies are marked as sensitive. Automatic clipboard clearing is enabled by default and can be changed in Settings. When enabled, the app attempts to clear its own clipboard entry after 30 seconds if that entry is still present. Clearing is best effort: app closure, background restrictions, or other clipboard tools can prevent removal. Deleting a vault item or clearing temporary results does not remove copies already retained elsewhere.
Sharing, third parties, and network access
The current app does not automatically share your local information with the developer or third parties and has no advertising or analytics integrations. Its Android and Compose libraries support the app interface, local processing, and platform functions.
The Android application declares internet permission, but the inspected generation, analysis, settings, and vault features do not use a network service. No app-data transmission requiring encryption in transit was identified.
If you choose the word-list attribution or Creative Commons license links, the app opens the relevant external website. That website and your browser handle the visit under their own privacy practices. Generating passwords and passphrases does not require opening those links.
Security
On Android, vault records are encrypted using AES-256-GCM with a key managed by Android Keystore. The key requires device authentication, and using the vault requires a configured Android screen lock. The app locks its vault interface when the activity is paused and provides a manual lock control.
The Android app requests platform protection against screenshots and screen recording. Android backup is disabled, and the vault file is stored in the app’s no-backup directory. Saved generation settings are stored separately in app-private preferences and do not receive the vault’s encryption.
These measures reduce exposure but cannot guarantee security. Revealing or copying a credential can expose it outside encrypted storage. If the vault’s encryption key becomes unavailable or unusable, existing encrypted records may be unrecoverable. The app provides no remote vault recovery or synchronization service.
Retention and deletion
Generated results and analysis input are held temporarily in app memory. Settings includes a Clear temporary results control. Vault locking limits access to saved vault records; it does not clear all temporary generation or analysis data.
Saved presets, defaults, preferences, and vault records remain locally until you remove or reset them, clear the app’s storage through Android, or uninstall the app. There is no scheduled retention period or server-side copy maintained by the app.
You can delete individual presets and vault items. Settings also provides Remove saved presets, Erase encrypted vault, and Reset all local data controls. Erasing the vault deletes its encrypted records and encryption key. These actions cannot recover or remove credentials you have copied or saved outside the app.
For deletion questions or privacy requests, contact contact@azbruktov.online. The developer cannot remotely access or delete the vault or settings stored on your device. Use the app’s local deletion controls or Android’s app-storage controls to remove that information.
Browser preview
The browser preview uses browser cryptographic randomness for generation and browser local storage for saved settings. The encrypted vault and Android device authentication are unavailable in the preview, and it does not persist generated credentials in a vault.
Copying uses the browser clipboard and depends on browser permission. Automatic clipboard clearing is unavailable in the preview. You can remove saved preview settings using the app’s reset controls or your browser’s site-data controls. This policy does not describe hosting-provider logs because those practices cannot be established from the inspected application source.
Children’s privacy
No target age range was specified. The current app does not request age information, provide accounts, or transmit personal information through its generation, analysis, or vault features. These local data practices apply to all users. Questions concerning a child’s use of the app may be directed to the privacy contact below.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the application or its data practices. Review the policy accompanying the version you use for the applicable information.
